Recommend replacement 2nd stage to go with older Apeks setup

I have an Apeks TX50 setup from around 2000 that still works perfectly. I’m sorry but I don’t know what the first stage is called. I believe it was the “usual one” that came with TX50s back then. I now need to replace one of the second stages. I always found the originals a bit bulky and fatiguing so I’m wondering if I could try something like an XL4 second stage with it, as it looks easier to chew on. Any other suggestions? It’s been a long time since I’ve shopped for regulators. Thanks.
