Same configuration for either double or single.
7" Primary and short bungeed 2nd.

I have no problem if others doing differently especially on recreational diving.

I disagree completely. I find the long hose primary & bungeed second the most streamlined and functional setup for recreational diving. It’s not a nuisance at all.
Yup, long-hose is more streamlined in a single tank set-up and gaves more flexibility for air-shares. Any potential down side is minor and usually perceived by those who haven’t gotten used to this configuration (takes all
of 2-3 dives) or haven’t had someone show them how to use it properly.

Similar to others...for ST configuration I use a 1m (40”) hose for my primary running it under my right arm with a right angle adapter at the reg. My second is on a 56cm (22”) hose on a bungee.

I wouldn’t be opposed to using a 2m hose for my primary in ST configuration. I dive it all the time in twinset.

Thanks @scubadada for making the poll. Great idea. I was thinking the same thing, that it would be interesting to know, at least among SB participants, how this breaks out. Would also be interesting to know how this compares with my tally of the participants in the other thread. Wish I had seen this one before I posted that.

Not sure it is important for the poll, but there isn’t a way to indicate two first stages other than side mount, unless I’m missing something? My group all dive with some form of redundant first stages (doubles or "pony") because sometimes pretty close to solo due to low visibility.

Edit: I am diving a 60" primary second stage and necklace octo with 40cf side mount "pony".

Sidemount long and short is my rec. setup. I add another 7' hose for buddy covid diving.

7' primary and a necklaced short hose on tiny doubles for rare backmount diving, solo or bubby. (I'd need to update this for covid buddy diving.)

So always independent air sources or doubles, unless I finally use my freedom plate with a solid buddy.

I agree that a long hose is easy in backmount single tank rec diving and makes air share much calmer as you can hang a bit apart from each other with a better view of the environment or stay close to maintain control. I'd say it takes a few more than three dives to get completely comfortable, but it is easy. And no snorkel on the mask.

For singles - single primary - no secondary - AI Transmitter, hose for dry suit and hose for wing.

For doubles - 7 foot primary and short secondary on a necklace - AI transmitter, hose for dry suit and hose for wing.

48" primary routed under the arm with a swivel at the second stage, an integrated octo/inflator and a slung 19 cubic foot pony.

Couldn't agree more...and placing a snapring on the house is a great place to hold onto near ones navel...

40" primary and bungeed backup is my usual configuration, however I have a number of vintage single hose regs set up as the were set up back in the day, and of course the double hose sometimes with a pony and sometimes without.

But the cat never enjoys it.
