Whats the best regulator for for cold water reliability for under 350$ please tell me where you found it for that price. thanks!:)

I own a Cyklon 5000 and really like it. I also have an Apeks TX50-and it's good.

But for the really cold stuff nothing breathes like a Jetstream.

And for a really good price I would buy one here:

I bought my Cyklon off of Ebay for half of what I would pay in the shop and it was in mint condition-shop said so. It is my favorite reg due to its low profile and side exhaust-great for photography.

But people are giving Jetstreams away on Ebay. And they are the best breathing reg I have ever tried. Best in cold too. Just a little bit bigger second than the Cyklon. But much better breathing.

You can get the Apeks regs online from diveinn.com and others for the price range that you are looking at.

One of the most important considerations is regulator freeze-up. The Apeks line with the environmental cap will help with this problem. Also, you want a reg that will deliver air if the 1st stage fails. Some will shut down if this happens. NOT a good thing!

With the dollar falling overseas, I don't if DiveInn is such the bargain it used to be-and bought thousand of dollars worth of stuff from there.

The Aqualung Nordic Pro dry suit I bought almost 2 years ago at DiveInn is now $300.00 USD more.

I would look at Ebay first.

Don't worry about that "first stage failure" fear. That is in regards to the Jetstream's first stage design. It has been rebuked many times here on this board.

Apeks is a good line of regs too.

But for only bucks you can get a Jetstream!!! Amazing.

Heres' that link again
