I read here somwhere that 7-8 inch vise grips fit the splines or for 10.50 plus shipping scubatools.com has a wrench. Jeff
 
I think Vance Harlow's book suggests vice grips, with some leather wrapped around the fitting if you don't want to destroy it.
 
Peterbuilt has a new "just a wrench" for the scubapro regs. Its really a good deal at only $10.50. If you have a scubapro reg, its a good idea to pick one up.

Thanks everyone.

I found a pair of pliers that did the job nicely. Since I have now replaced my hoses with ones that have standard fittings, hopefully I will never have this problem again.
