Hello everyone
Just had my mk17 s600 kit freeflow for the first time. I was diving in water temperatures around -1 to -2°C (about 29°F) with air temp about -2°C, when me and my buddy got down to about 18m. my regulator started freeflowing so I ascended calmly. My buddy was using the Poseidon Xtream and it has never free flowed, now I want that one .
It was definately a second stage problem since everything else was functioning as it should, so I think it's more the s600 than the mk17 that was failing. The mk17 in theory at least, should not be able to freeze since no water comes in contact with any of it's parts.
But to be fair, we had done a long surface swim and I was a bit out of breath so I was probably breathing more heavily than usual.
