Did he die in a cave?

There's no evidence of this.

Very true, either he died in a cave or staged his own death in a cave. Either way, still has no place in this forum.

He was not a cave diver, he was a basic open water diver and thats where it belongs.

Please move this back to the basic forum where it belongs, this person was not a cave diver, and died in a cave. No cave diver benefits from this because they have had the training, some rec/openwater divers could potentially benefit seeing this as a warning...seeing as how the grim reaper sign isn't enough of one for this individual.

So the cave section is only available for the discussion of certified cave divers doing something stupid? Like it or not, this incident has an effect on the cave community, most notably, the folks that risked their lives searching for the open water diver. The card the dead/missing guy holds shouldn't be the factor that decides where the thread gets posted.

Very true, either he died in a cave or staged his own death in a cave.

Or was waylaid while on the surface while in close proximity to a cave. No evidence of this either, but just as possible as one, and more possible than the other.

Either way, still has no place in this forum.

Prospective cave trainee dies in a cave, or disappears while he is allegedly diving a cave. Members of the cave community make multiple recovery attempts in the cave.
