I've been searching and searching for the best possible extendable monopod that would survive salt water, built sturdy and I think I may have found the best contender.. It has great specs... Look forward to trying it out!

Found the Quik Pod DSLR for $35.50 from an online retailer...(Quik Pod DSLR and Extreme are the same model - per the manufacturer)

I have the same quik-pod pole.
It works great.
Only had one problem with mine after about 10-15 dives with it.
There is a plastic knob that covers a metal nut and it tightens down the camera to the pole.
That plastic knob broke off and now you have to have a wrench to tighten or loosen the camera on the pole.
Other than that it works great, you'll like it alot.

These seem awfully bulking to carry around, don't get in the way?

I was using the extending pole in this video..It is not bulky at all... Skip to. one minute for a short clip of it being used..

I'm not sure that this is true, the comparison chart here shows a difference between the DSLR and POV versions (the latter is waterproof):

I have the DSLR and really love it, however, it is rusting out in the hardware. A stainless version of this would be much better for salt water activities.

Also, the "REACH" from GoPole may give it a challenge. I love the transparent design.

Looks great, did you fix a light to the monopod. I looks like the light is moving with the camera very well. If so, how did you fix it?

Sorry don't remember. I think the video is a compilation of one day's diving, but we hit several springs.
