Newfoundland diving. featuring the bell island Wrecks. and an iceberg...lol
first pic is of the remains of a lifeboat which sits just off the port side of the PLM-27. 40ft to the deck, 90ft to the bottom
second is the bow anchor of the same ship. the PLM-27
third pic is the gun on the bow of the lord strathcona. aprox. 70ft to the deck, 120ft to the bottom
fourth is the bow anchor which sits almost at the stern of the Saganaga. Story is that the ship folded in have when the torpedo hit, throwing the bow anchor into the air and onto the aft decks. you can follow the anchor chain back over the decks, thru the cargo holds, right to its winch. Aprox. 60ft to the deck, 100ft to the bottom.
fifth and sixth are from a couple of iceberg dives this past spring.
the last pic is from the marconi (radio) room of the SS. Rose Castle. the deepest, most intact, most beautiful and most well preserved of the bell island wrecks. Aprox. 100ft to the deck. 160 to bottom.
