Not interested in DIY and I don't want a octo "necklace".

Any suggestions on a simple, reliable Octo holder I can clip to the top ring of my BCD?

$1.49 for a Marine Sports octo holder - can't get any simpler than that!

Simple ... and they work better than the fancier ones ...

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

The basic "snorkel keeper" has been on nearly every set of gear I've worked with for the last decade (5 or 6 operators).

Ditto what Bob and halemano suggested

The normal snorkel keep takes some practice and getting used to to be able to slip your octo in quickly, but you'll get the hand of it easily. And your octo will never unintentionally come undone from the keeper.

The one Bob suggested is supposidly easier to slip the octo in, I've never used that kind so I can't say how well it holds the octo.
