I like a soft silicone mouthpiece (I am just sensitive, I guess, in the gums at least LOL) but they get beat up pretty quickly and deveop holes at the edge of the reg housing outlet, leading to wet breathing.

I just got some shrink tubing and applied a 1" strip around the base of the mouthpiece to add an extra layer of protection. For the cost of one silicone mouthpiece, I am hoping I can protect the mouthpieces on my fleet of regs for years to come. We'll see how it goes but I wanted to throw this tip out there to other "sensitive" types like me. :giggle:

I got the shrink tubing without adhesive so it won't leave a mess if I have to remove it in the future. The adhesive type is much more heavy duty but will leave a mess if removed.
