I have heard of this one other time and it was ugly as well but in the end nothing could be done.
Would you want to train with this LDS and instructor again?
Int he afore mentioned incident it cost the LDS in bad advertisement once it became known.
This whole arena just enforces the find the right LDS and instructor.
To many people like myself would have never made it out of the pool has it not been for a great instructor.
Taking a few extra sessions in the pool is never a bad thing even if you have to pony a little more $$$$.
But repeating the class for a full payment without the offer of extra pool time is in my opinion is just not right.
I understand the concessions it makes on the instructor and most if not all students who struggle in the pool would be willing to either work on the skills or forfeit entirely.
I assisted with training and very few 1 or 2 students chose to stop training.
These were the students who were terrified and it was torture to be in the water for them.
Diving is supposed to be fun not unpleasant..
I am sorry that this happened and I admire your desire to continue training.
I would encourage you to seek out another instructor carefully who will commit to seeing your through your training.
Realize that this a life support type of bobbie and should be treated as such with very serious yet fun training.
When it comes to higher risk activities realize cheaper is not always better.
Sometimes it is worth it to pay the full amount or a more expensive instructor who will be worth the extra.
Just some advice and it is my opinion so take it for what it is and decide for yourself.
