What if you intend to fish, but once you got into the park you realized you packed your dive gear and not your fishing gear?
And what if you're fishing with a spear gun?

Crap! I got here. I intended to fish but all I have is this scuba gear. :D
I guess I will have to go fishing :D

I live right across the street from Canyon Lake.

Now I have not dove in it this year, but last year I used to just drive down to the dam and shore dive or dive from the pier, no one seemed to care at all.

Just a thought. :)

FYI, all the parks around Canyon Lake get so slammed with out of towners that they put "headcount" restrictions on all of'em.

I was going to visit some friends at Potter's Creek that were camping, they told me I couldn't come in, there were already too many people at the park. So yeah, its' a pretty crummy (and regular) occurrence.

If you don't mind a very long, steep walk then overlook park is actually an interesting dive. The profile goes something like this; down, down, down etc.
