Not a trick question! I found it, just have NO idea what this is?
Appears to be plastic and about the size of a Quarter.

Perhaps a line marker of sorts, but I don't see how it would remain attached ? Or, since it is plastic, it could have been straight at one time, like a plastic toothpick and melted in a funky kind of way, then tossed or have fallen in the water ?
 
is it rounded? looks like it could maybe be an ear gauge of some sort (like an earring)
 
Sorry but its a freaking earing, my kid has a pair.
 
My daughter also informed me my "extraordinary" find was just a stupid Ear Gauge worn by her friends!
