Recently I picked up a Zyliss garlic press, and I'm wondering why I didn't get one years ago. So what little gadget do you find yourself using more than you thought you would cooking?

In order:

1) Her Garlic Peeler (sort of a plastic tube thing... clove in, clean clove out)

2) Egg Separater...

3) Mandolin (sp?)

OK. My fav is the fork. I use that the most.

Mo2vation -- making me laugh as I lurk here way too late at night.

My Henkels and global knives. And the wok that I bought 20 years ago, the first thing I got when I left home.

With those I can cook just about anything.

I'm going with --My meat grinder. I know it is really a small appliance. But, hey, nobody is giving out prizes. Haha.

Since I am the king of leftovers in our house the meat grinder is invaluable. My family knows not to question what goes into my chicken salad. Ham salad, turkey salad any thing like that gets run through the grinder.

Every year we have a company clam bake at our house. There is always left overs. So I make clams casino and freeze them until the Christmas party. They have the leftover, lobester, clams, shrimp, sauage, steak, oinions, peppers and hot dog rolls all ground up and stuffed on the clam half shells.

My enameled lime press. It's summer time & margs are flowing....

Ooooh... Picked up a lime press recently, but didn't splurge on the enamel. :D Do make life easier, don't they?

Nice, expensive, sharp knife. I own one and the only thought I've ever given to needing another is when both my husband and I are chopping and have to flip a coin to see who gets the good knife.

They do, they do.

Other than margs, try a michelada (a favorite on hot days in Mexico):

Salt the rim of a glass
Squeeze lime juice into the glass

Now - there are many variations depending upon where you are... Near Mexico City, simply add your favorite beer. Closer to the US border, you can add a couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce, tabasco, even a dash of soy.

Some even add a bit of tequila, but I think that's mostlyl north of the border.

BTW - the enamel just looks good, and stops the acidic lime juice from pitting the metal - rinse yours after use and never worry...

Lastly - what happened to da Flames?
