Who has ditched a weight belt and why?

Other than training exercises I've never ditched weight.

I had a pouch fall out once but luckily it was at the end of a Florida dive (only about 5-6 pounds in the pouch) while I was near the anchor line. I simply grabbed the anchor line and a diver below me who had seen it happen brought it up to me.
 
I was climbing up the dive boat ladder in 3-5 foot seas and got slammed into the ladder hard. When I pulled myself up and into the boat I noticed my weight belt missing. The buckle must have tripped when I picked myself back up and climbed the ladder. It was a metal buckle too which is supposed to be more secure. It was recovered by one of the not-happy dive boat helpers when he found it on the bottom. I'm glad it didn't hit anyone on the way down.
 
stop the accidental loss of a weight belt-it gets caught.
