Been diving for over 35 years with a couple of times inactive. Advanced Nitrox last year, now taking 2 classes with 2 different instructors. Even if you are not in a classroom setting, every dive should be a learning experience. You never know everything!

Been diving 18 months now and in the middle of a PADI DM program. After that I've scheduled a crossover to IANTD DM. In the next year I have talked with the shop about IANTD open water instructor, Adv. Nitrox, and recreational Trimix as well as gas blending. That should sufficiently deplete the wallet and keep me out of trouble

Last class I took was in February, Equipment Specialist, I thought it was a good course on a cold snowy day and that it's good to have that knowledge!

I will be taking Enriched Air Nitrox in June, (just need to gerr my butt over and sign up for it) and AOW the next time we schedule a trip to the Keys (decided I would rather see something cool on my deep dive than the bottom of a quarry)

After that, who knows...maybe just as much diving as I can!

I was OW certified in September of 04. MAAAAJOR newbie!

In the midst of NAUI AOW as we type, got my Navigation/Low viz and Night dives done, only need Deep, Boat, Drift, and something else.

Started in 62 and I still have my first backpack.

We have to recert every 3 years. My last official classes were 40 hours in Aug. 05 and three days in October 05. We normally have one or two a year on top of those.

The training should never stop and you should learn something on every dive.

why do you have to recert every 3 years?

In midst of DM now. Have the swims and rescue skill demo left. Just started PA &WVa licensed first responder course. Believe me this ain't your basic first aid/cpr. Learning everything including use of airways, childbirth, and a bunch of other stuff only thing missing will be how to start an IV. But chances are that will be coming shortly as well. Will be pulling a shift or two with local ambulance company in May and then simulated diver emergency/drowning rescue with real chopper evac sometime in June. Also looking at DSAT tech deep later this summer. Will be doing wreck specialty in Sept in St.Lawrence river. I to, have been constantly learning since ow cert.
