Wow !!! That is impressive. My wife just happened to see this and asked me when I am thinking of getting my tat!! I think I'll start with a shirt first!

Thanks for sharing, this one really takes the prize!!!!

My husband is my only dive buddy, all my dives since certification have been with him and I wouldn't dive without him. I love that we get to share the experience of being underwater together. We are lucky to share a lot of interests, but I like that this one is something we don't share with anyone else.

We both use our air at a similar rate, which is great and because we have a similar number of dives we are learning and improving together.

We do need to work on our communication, though, he doesn't seem to understand my signals at all! He also prefers that I lead and he follows, but then he'll stop to look at something or take a picture and fall behind, which can be annoying. That said, he does end up getting some amazing photographs and videos that we watch together once we are back home, and that just extends the whole dive experience.

He is also an awesome buddy on the boat, I suffer from motion sickness most dives and while I lie down and try not to be sick, he covers my face with a towel so I don't get sunburnt. We learnt I needed that the painful way.

This subject really doesn't get old for for me. It just adds to the appreciation I have that my spouse likes to dive with me. I really feel lucky since there are some who have posted that it is their wish that some day their spouse will join them. Overall I think this activity helps our relationship by adding a special element not found in other activities. It is an unexpected bonus for me and her, we look forward to our next dive together.

It is something that I cherish.

My wife say's she only really enjoys the dives when we are together but she will dive occasionally without me. I enjoy diving with her as I can keep an eye on her and we do give each other constructive feedback.

I have also worked as a tow truck in currents :D and we have been known to hold hands on free ascents and during stops in current or surge. She also complains about my photography addiction but will point things out  and she loves to look at the pics & videos afterwards

I also enjoy my solo dives when she does not want to go:chuckle:

I found this thread when I was just reading older stuff. I have to admit I got interested in diving very recently due to a guy friend who may become more. I have my OW classroom session tomorrow, pool time Thursday, and Saturday, and my check out dives mid-Sept. My guy friend has been diving for years. He's good for bouncing questions off. He's so excited I'm getting into diving that it's rather sweet and he said it's fun for him, hearing my enthusiasm. :) I think we may be doing the underwater pumpkin carving at the local quarry in October. Bonding over diving is fun!

Don't let quarry diving in Illinois taint your overall impression of scuba diving. I tried it for a while early in my diving experience and I didn't care for it, but my husband and I have been enjoying tropical diving vacations together for over 30 years, have fun!

I'm looking forward to getting out on the Great Lakes! Plenty of shallow wrecks in Thunder Bay off Alpena, MI. I was born and raised in Michigan, so the Great Lakes are in my blood.

I was born in raised in Chicago and the Great Lakes are in my blood too - and there are excellent wreck dives in the Great Lakes - but they are cold, too cold for me. I'm a wimp. I like warm tropical waters, coral reefs, and abundant sea life.

But there are lots of dedicated Great Lakes divers that have a terrific time exploring their home waters, have fun!

Just got back from the T&C Explorer II. A few of the other divers saw my wife and I holding hands while cruising along one of the walls. They gave me a little rash of s**t, just in fun, but they really thought it was nice and wished their spouses dived. :)
