    Gilboa weekend May 22 & 23

Not going to be there that weekend, but would be interested in temps at surface/depth and depth of the thermocline - if you wouldn't mind posting when you get back. Have fun.

    Bermuda IV liveaboard?

Has anyone used this charter? Looking for something very special for my 50th BD and wondered if this could be it. Appreciate any and all input.

Cruise: Check or carry on gear?

I've always done the reg & computer in the carry-on and checked the rest. Haven't had a problem.

Who has had something stolen in Bonaire

My husband's dive boots were stolen last Feb. He was packing up his gear at the dive shop and his boots were snatched when he walked the 10 ft to rinse his BC. It was at the Dive-Inn dive shop. Very rude people working there as well - even before his boots went walk-about, we were unhappy.

Marine Mammals with too much time on their fins...

I volunteer at our zoo in the Manatee Springs exhibit. We are part of a rehab and release program so we get new occupants every couple of years. They are playful devils. They will try to detach any piece of equipment you might have on - and they think your head is just another detachable...

    Newbie question re: Gilboa

I did my open water checkout dives in Gilboa in June. As a (then) 44 year old female - I was cold and miserable in my 7mm. BUT - I am glad I did it there, because after the cold water and (relatively) low visability, my first ocean dives seemed even better. if you can deal with the less than...

    Full Foot Fin Feedback

Would probably work, but leaving my boots at home was one of the main reasons I would go for full foot fins. Anybody up for inventing a full foot fin that has an ankle strap? :D

    Mask Off Exercises

To get used to removing my mask, I found it helped to exhale through my nose while taking it off. Then as you breathe without your mask, try holding your head tilted a little to one side. That will help keep the bubbles from your reg from pushing water up your nose.

    Full Foot Fin Feedback

While everyone is discussing full foot fins, does anyone know of some that would fit a person who needs a multiple last shoe? In simple terms, my foot is wide at the base of my toes, but VERY narrow at the heel. Every full foot fin I've tried on either pinches at the ball of my foot or just...

    First pool session

Wow - sounds kind of like my first pool session! Most of my mask problems were caused by my hair (getting into the mask, getting tangled in the strap, etc). Everything gets easier with practice. Its amazing how accustomed you can become to water shooting up your nose! Keep up the good work.

    Bringing a non-diver, any suggestions?

Oh, yeah, there is a website called www.shoretrips.com that can hook you up with an independant tour operator. They specialize in the cruise ship crowd for those who want a more personal experience, but they can work with your sister if she'd like to do some group (small) activities such as...

    Bringing a non-diver, any suggestions?

You can go with her to play mini-golf at Sally's after diving. Lush beautiful course and they give you a walkie-talkie to order more beer delivered to the hole you are playing. The more you drink, the more fun it is :-)

    Epcot "Dive Quest"

I made a point of emailing Disney beforehand and they assured me I would be allowed into the park so long as it wasn't at capacity.

    Epcot "Dive Quest"

You can exit into the park after diving even without buying an admission ticket. The only time they would prevent you is if the park is at capacity.

    working between the Holidays

I always work this time of year, too. To me it means I can wear jeans to work, come in late, take long lunches, and leave early. Also, since I cover for a co-worker every year at this time, it means he doesn't gripe about covering for me when I head to the Caribbean for 2 weeks in Feb.

    First ocean dive a disaster!

I don't think you're overreacting. They should never have taken someone that deep on their first post-cert dive. Did you confront the dive master when you surfaced?

AOW to do the Grove..What's up with that!

I just dove the Grove last Sunday with Aquanuts and I only have my OW. However, I was with a group that included an instructor, so I was permitted to dive under her 'supervision'. I can see where the current could make that a difficult dive, but I can't understand why I could go as a 'student'...

    Circleville August 20/21

OK, bummer. DH has bronchial pneumonia. No diving for us this weekend. Hope you guys have a great time. Let me know if you find anything else in the North quarry.

    Circleville August 20/21

Was there 2 weeks ago. Very warm and vis about 10-12 ft.

    Circleville August 20/21

Don't think there's much in the north quarry. Some hoops suspended at different heights to swim through, a flat trailer, there's supposed to be a police car in there somewhere but we couldn't find it. We'll try to be there Saturday AM at the north quarry, but DH has a cold and is pretty...
