well, that sounds cheap for a new one, but there are second hand ones all over the place, and I use less lead with a back-pack. Just enough to get down

I did try a scuba balloon but couldn't get it to submerge.
 
well ida used a diving bell but nobody makes a big enough mayonnaise jar
(it worked for the mice)
