Rollie at dive cozumel http://www.divecozumel.net/ recently brought in a couple of the DPV made by Rodney Nairne (very similar to the gavin scooters). His operation using the yellow rose dive boat is another option.
I wonder how much ground can be covered with a DPV going with the current....probably would need a surface marker otherwise you'll be floating for awhile before being picked up.
Sounds like fun though....not the floating part.
