I haven't logged a dive on paper since 2003 or 2004. All electronic since then.

As such, I do not allow any shop, charter operator, etc. to stamp or otherwise ink the screen of my phone or tablet where my log is kept.:)

I used to enjoy getting the stamps in my logbook. I still enjoy keeping a paper logbook. However, after my first couple of years diving, I stopped bringing my logbook with me for the dive day, and instead began a practice of filling out my log pages that evening or even days later. I do miss the stamps! To me, a logbook is totally like a scrapbook, full of fun memories.

When I have done the odd charter I would take a piece of paper in a jar on the boat to record data, then have the log book signed/stamped afterwords, as it stayed in the car. Kept it nice and dry as well.
