Be careful with regards to the sun. A Dr. put me on an antibiotic one and didn't warn me to stay out of the sun! I got fried even with a sunscreen!

You'd think they'd warn you about that when you live in Hawaii where I can get a mild sunburn without sunscreen from hanging clothes on the clothesline!

There is no specific reason not to dive on antibiotics, other than the issue of sun sensitivity with some. I suggest only one precaution with antibiotics, or any other drugs.

Never dive on any medication, unless you've been on it at least a few days and know how you're tolerating it and any of it's side effects. If you're going to get a surprise reaction to a new drug you want it to occur on land.

Thank you guys for the replays, is want I wanted to know.

Worth reiterating.

Hmm ... I find this quite interesting

When I learned to dive about 17 years ago we were told it was an absolute no no to dive while taking ANY medication as the affect at depth were largely unknown.

It would seem that this thinking has changed ... is this correct?

Now those experts from 17 years ago are now old, decrepit, and taking viagra, zoloft, atenolol, and still smokes. They are changing the rules a bit for themselves, and others.
