For our wedding, we rented the villas Iguanas Sur and Ranas Sur and have to admit that they were wonderful. Together the villas housed 28 people very comfortably though they can be rented separately. The cook service was fantastic - great local cuisine.

The only downside is that they are down south near the Reef Club. So if you are wanting something close to town they are not for you. Also, they don't have a sand beach access. For the beach, you had to walk down to San Francisco.

In January four of us stayed in a villa just a block from La Cocay on 8 norte. 3 br, 2 1/2 baths, pool, newly redone kitchen, two living rooms. I like having a kitchen for breakfast/lunch and snacks. Also we did cook one dinner as we just didn't feel like going out. It was only a 10 minute walk to the plaza and I like feeling part of a neighborhood as I walked to the San Francisco. Dividing the cost by four made the price very reasonable. Booked it through the Cozumel villas site mentioned previously.

There are many in-town homes for rent. Check out:

as well as their links to beachfront and ocean view homes. Some homes photograph better than others. If you have a big group and everyone gets along, a rental home or condo is a great way to stay in Cozumel.

Enjoy!

We have had great luck with houses in Florida, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, and Trinidad. We have a house reserved for July in Belize and would recommend the house route over hotels for medium to large groups. We travel with 5-10 people and have not yet had a problem with houses.

Typically I just do a search on Yahoo or Google to find the properties. The following is a typical search phrase: "beach house rentals ((insert location here))".

Good luck and PM me if you have any questions.

I've used both web sites to find a house and had a very enjoyable stay using both sites. My wife and I really liked Casa Tomas. Casa Tomas was just close enough and far enough from everything, IMHO.

Good Luck, have fun!:14:
