Thought Id put a bit of info on a wreck I dived a week ago. called the Marjan depth was 30 meters. vis was really poor on the day but have been told it can be great. Hell of a boat ride out 3+ hours on a fast boat to get to.
Didnt get any vids or photos as was completing a course with BSAC. One of the better wrecks I have dived loads of places to enter if trained to do so, cargo is still there never seen so much Sulphur. Serious amount of wild life from blue angels, bat fish, grouper / hamor, crabs prawns. Whale sharks have been seen a few times in the past, turtles and black tip sharks from time to time.
Current on the day was high but it was choppier weather than hoped for.
Fun think was able to help in retrieving an anchor and chain that was lost from another boat so that was a first for me
If your in Qatar and have the opportunity then advisable to give it a dive. Just need a new go pro for future wreck dives now.

3 hours?? I'd need a nap after this ride.

How was vis down at wreck?
Yeah was one long boat ride, the wreck itself is still in reasonable good shape, starting to show its age underwater in some spots. Prop and for the most part most the ship still very recognizable in shape. Vis on the day was low for the area, but have been told its normally the best vis in Qatar with up to 10 meters. Only issue with Qatar vis is awful at the best of times

So managed to get back in the water after bad weather had called off a few evening dives. Trip with the local BSAC branch to what is called Othemans reef, an ok little reef that is slowly growing back now. Vis was less than 3 meters at times so that was rubbish.
Ended up having to skip the second dive due to equipment gremlins, but managed to resolve that (AI playing silly bugger). Due to the vis the dives ended being a reef clean up by the Doha Sub Aqua Club with a huge amount of ghost fishing gear being removed. 14 divers, couple of families and a good day out all in all
