Tank maintenance and rust

Okay this is an old post I know, but if anyone else stumbles across it here is some advice for getting rid of rust... Find something called naval Jelly, I used it on the barrel of my Bradley Fighting vehicle's Barrel (25mm cannon) to get rid of rust... Apply let it sit and wipe off it's that easy... as the name states it's what the navy uses on their ships. That's my two cents...

I get a wire brush wheel, put that in my drill and take off the external paint and rust. Then I use an epoxy primer and top coat. Using Naval Jelly (which I think is phosphoric acid) may speed your efforts.

Actually, once I realized that I didn't have the tools, the skills or the open space appropriate for such a job (I live in Manhattan), I found an ever quicker solution... I got a pair of galvanized 119s, and now I take better care of them after diving...!
