I had a 24" HP hose on my last set up and it sucked with singles but worked great on my doubles. I ordered a 26" hose this time but was sent a 28" hose by mistake. I am going to keep the 28" hose as it still routes smoothly and is not excessively long and is easy to read when unclipped.

Is that acceptable in terms of DIR rules?

I am pretty sure the 26" hose is but am unsure of the 28" hose.

Read this from http://www.5thd-x.com/index2.html Notice it says 24 or 26 inch hose below

I don't think anyone would refuse to dive with you or kick you out of their class for 2" of HP hose.
