Brandon and I will make this. We'll make a day trip ... hopefully from Dana Point, this time. Looking forward to it.

Hey Rick,

Glad you and Brandon are able to make it.

See you Saturday

I HATE SUMMER CROWDS !!!!! :crying:

Looks like we'll be driving to Long Beach again !

Christian,
Count me in. I'll be taking the Dana Point ferry. Any suggestion what I should bring for the picnic?
Hi subzero,

As Wrinkles mentioned, we don't do a picnic at this one. It's just too difficult to get it all coordinated when we're all hopping on a ferry to get to Catalina. Also, since there are so many places to get something to eat so close, it works out nicely.

This is the only Wrinkles Dive where we don't include a picnic.

I look forward to meeting you at Casino Point! We're easy to find. Just look for the 8' x 3' ScubaBoard banner.

I was speaking with Michael Kane (MHK) earlier today about our Wrinkles Dive this weekend. For those of you who don't know him, he is a GUE instructor here in SoCal. Many of us have attended his DIR-F (Fundamentals) class.

I know that quite a few of you have expressed an interest in learning more about the DIR system of diving and have asked me many questions that I don't really feel qualified to answer.

This has prompted me to ask MHK about the possibility of coming to a Wrinkles Dive and he'll be coming to this one. He has graciously made himself available to anyone with questions at our Wrinkles Dive this Saturday.

He'll be there all day and, of course, I'd be happy to introduce you if you're shy.

Wrinkles/Headhunter,
Thanks for the clarification. See you there.

Do you guys know if there are still seats available on the boats?

As far as I know there are still seats available, but my information is a couple of days old.

It would be great to see you! Call the number for the Catalina Express in the first post of this thread and try to get on a boat.

And there won't be any coals at this one to burn your feet on. :11:

If you plan on attending, I wouldn't waste another minute ... make a reservation ASAP. Stuff is filling up quick for this weekend !

As of yesterday, Catalina Express had limited times & seating available from LB and San Pedro on Saturday. The Catalina Flyer still had plenty of room as of this afternoon (we booked with them). They leave from Balboa Pavlion in Newport Beach. The only draw back is that they only offer one departure and return time ... they leave late (around 9am) and come back early (around 4:30pm).

I'm in!

I'll be on the 6:15 out to Avalon Saturday morning, and leaving at 7:30 that night.

For whatever it's worth, I made my reservations literally minutes ago (~4:15), so there was still at least one seat then. I doubt I got the very last one. Give them a call.
