Has anyone ever tried this? Heat some olive oil and then rub it on your body. Then put on your wetsuit/drysuit and dive in cold waters. While diving in below 40 recently I tried it on my hands and my face and thought I was more comfortable. I would have to do two dives back to back with and without heated olive oil to actually tell the real difference. Since commercial divers fill their suits with hot water sometime, I was thinking someone may have experience with this.

Anyone? Thanks.

Is it cold and rainy where you are? :) Are you stuck at the computer? :)

Um... did you mean to post this on craigslist?

:D

But seriously:
1.) Why ruin your wetsuit?
2.) Why olive oil?
2.) Why heat it? It's going to end up "body temperature" within moments of application.

housebound...

I have poured hot water down my wet suit before and after dives when I dove wet in cold water.
The hot water sure did feel good when I got out of the water and it was snowing .
Can say I never used olive oil.

This is sounding more and more like a bad spaghetti western. Spaghetti porn?

Spaghetti porn?

Do yourself a favor... do NOT do a google search on "Spaghetti Porn."

Don't ask me how I know this, just trust me.

Sharks really love this, as it gives the diver a wonderful, zesty flavor.

Seriously, though, I've heard of pearl divers and other skin divers rubbing grease or oil on themselves to insulate their skin from cold water. Sounds similar.
