Hello All-

I am a newly certified diver and I am in the market for a new BC and Reg and I was wondering what you all dive? What you recommend? Also interested in your thoughts behind the recommendations? I would like to get into diving all year round and I really do not want to buy equipment that I will be unhappy with. I also know a dry suit will be in my future.

It might be helpful to tell the people here a little about yourself. Things like where you live, where you plan to dive, what kinds of diving you plan on doing in the future, etc.

As for me i use a BARE ATR HD Tech, this is a front entry trilam suit. Scubapro MK 20 with G500 second and a USD backup. Oxycheq BP with 45# single wing, and various other equipment.

I've had no trouble with this set up and have also had good expereinces with an APEX TX50 which i foolishly sold. I've used a sherwood outback BCD and seaquest vest style BCD. The sherwood was my first and it was a good BC to learn with.

Pretty much any equipment from a well known manufacturer will serve you well for your first couple of years and after that you will likely want to change some of it. I'm on my third set now and will probably stick with the current gear for a very long time. Like anything else it takes time and expereince to decide what is truely best.

Have fun shopping!

Enjoy drianing your bank account. Rent some different gear try it all out and find what works for you. Me I have a knight hawk Bcd, and a scuba pro mk25/S600 with an air 2 for backup. I love this setup. But everyone will like what they like. And welcome to the most addictive activity on the planet.
