Did you see my links...?

Yes Don and the second link states that a flight was diverted to Canada after it had activated the hijack alert system NOT because it had someone on the no-fly list which is what 200 Bar stated in his post.
If they were landing US bound planes in Canada for that reason you can be sure Canadians would have a say in it.

TY, yes - but I was replying to 200Bars...
ok I was being a bit sarcastic...They make them land in Maine, the furthest east coast airport...Google "Cat Stevens no fly list"

Thanks Dandy, I missed it....

Time to start ACTIVELY profiling these scumbags. If it looks like a terrorist, smells like a terrorist, sounds like a terrorist, and has a name like one- NO FLY! Let em take a ship. Or better yet a bus! They can even have their own driver who is on the list.

Jim I agree. We have to stop being politically correct. I have gone through TSA security and witnessed an agent wand an older gentleman above 70 years old asking him questions. He was hard of hearing so the agent had to scream the questions to him. I am thinking give me a break..he is going to take the plane down.

We need to start profiling!

It's time TSA stopped dancing around the elephant in the room....

PROFILING WOULD SAVE US ALL A LOT OF HASSLE, TIME AND MONEY ~ AND SAVE LIVES IN THE PROCESS ! ! !

Good idea, then they just have to go after people with dark complexions and eastern sounding names like maybe Barack Obama

Profiling makes it easier on the terrorists, since all they have to do is find someone who doesn't fit the profile.

And they have ways of getting to elderly Americans if they really set their mind to it. "Okay grandpa, if you blow up this one plane, you die - but your family goes free. If you don't, you cannot imagine how horrible it will be for them." They can pick out the ones who would give in...

I heard on the news today they are talking about allowing only 1 item for carry-on. I am wondering, does this mean you can only take your backpack, briefcase, or purse and not a carry on bag OR take just a carry on bag and no other thing like a backpack, briefcase or purse? IF it does, that is going to really suck and make it hard to figure out how we are going to carry on the gear we do along with our laptop and other items.

I don't know the details of this proposal; no one does, yet, since they haven't figured it out themselves. But of course, they will be charging you to check that item that they are forcing you to check... If the airlines start profiteering from this, it will really be the last straw. :shakehead:
