RJP all Walmart apps are computerized questions multiple choice. What you smart people with perfect English skills fail at is clearly the common sense of you never turn in anything your write the first time. You always have someone check over your work. Then you rewrite it, you Ass-ume that I would turn something that hasn't been proof read or checked. That leads me to believe that you are not a very intuitive thinker. I thought divers were supposed to be constantly assessing the situation? Well a lot of your assessments lead you to be mislead. By your first assumption that to leads you to the conclusion that this is how I always type. Shows about how critical your thinking is. I don't think I would hire anyone to do anything with diving if they couldn't critically think. Or in that matter be around them to dive there a danger to themselves and those around them. So before you start writing think things through. They are not always the way they seem. Its a forum not a resume, paper, or a application. LET'S GET BACK TO THE POINT HERE!

Please don't take this as anything but another attempt to reach you on this subject, no offense to you is intended but it's hard to not sound harsh.

If I might be so bold I think it's you who is missing the point. I don't say that to be mean or funny or make you feel bad, I actually think you ARE missing the point regarding your communications skills. You came here looking for help in trying to earn or raise funds for school and are scoffing ar the most important advice anyone here can offer you...Dude you NEED TO FIX THOSE LANGUAGE SKILLS if you want to get anywhere in life!
This is a forum, that is true, however rather than that being an excuse for sloppy writing in this place what and how you write is absolutely and positively the only way anyone here can assess who you are. This is the universe of the written word, the fact that you write in a manner that produces nearly unreadable posts and then tell us that you can't be bothered writing clearly tells us that you don't take communication seriously.
My friend, if you approached diving like you approach the english language then you would never have made it back up from your first check-out dive...it is THAT bad  and you don't seem to care.
Please listen to the very sincere advice that you have been given, don't tune this out like some kid with nagging parents...buckle down and learn proper grammar and vocabulary skills. It really is that big a deal in the real world, if your verbal communication comes off anything like your writing then it's going to be hard to get the break you are looking for.

Again, I apologize for what must seem like everyone ganging up on you but all it really is is everyone trying to answer your question about how to find help.

I my original post, I may have come across unhelpful due to the graphic of choice.

Please consider the rest of my post: more work means more money.

I have a new option that may be less desirable. If you can not pay for school, wait until you can. Why incur such a heavy debt load? Few of us have been blessed with no money owed back after school. Today's society is more likely to accept someone as who is continuing his or her education late in life.

My name is Daniel, I'm in college right now studying Sports Management Dive Industry with a minor in business. The is a problem I have encountered is the overwhelming cost of doing this. The cost of the program last semester cost me 18,200, I am still trying to figure out where to come up with the 2,794 dollars to pay my remaining balances. I have searched every nook and cranny of the web for Diver related scholarships they just don't really exist unless your a Graduate level student. I suppose because I am in the only program of its kind. Ive maxed out government funding, and school scholarships. My major don't qualify for most of the scholarships out there so that limits me . I would be willing to work for a contract period of time after I finish, for any type of live aboard or dive company. If there is any ideas or ways to raise some funds please
LET ME KNOW!

Thats what I'm doing now FireInMyBones, working to pay of the remainder of my debt from last semester. If I would have been able to stay for this semester I would have had DAN CPR rescue breather, life guard, and rescue diver certified which would have opened up a few more opportunities.

I know it must be tough. If I find any good money makers for students, I'll pass them along.

[sm]You won't mind if I try a few out will you?[/sm]

I wish you the best of luck. If you keep with it, you will make it.

There's a summer divemaster program for students in Catalina. They take you through the whole DM program, a ton of specialties, and they'll even cover your RQ cert too if you don't have it yet. It's unpaid, but they cover your room and board all summer. If you have an instructor cert though, they'll give you $900/wk for the whole summer, which I believe is significantly higher than the usual going rate for that position. Naturally that would be instead of all the free coursework, which would obviously not be useful to you.

There might be something similar in FL?

And yeah, cash is hard to come by anywhere these days. I'm in a PhD program, with an MS and significant industry and teaching experience, and the wages I can get tutoring cover about a third of my tuition. I'm even at a state school. I don't really think there's a reasonable way to pay for college without loans these days.
