"I was working for US AID on an Inter-American Bank project during 1974 and 75. We were assessing the fisheries resources in Lago de Nicaragua."

OK ... I don't have anything to come close to that, even before the shark comes into the picture.

Great story Thal!

Living in RI the "Ocean State" with 400 miles of coast line and a state constitutional right to access all bodies of water in the state, I dive whenever I can. I just logged my 1900th dive, with 1373 hours and 57 minutes total bottom. I've got a lot of posting to do before I catch up with those numbers!

Methinks the diving comes before the posting.

Keep at it AD.

Ok, Ok, I'll admit it, that was warmish water, wetsuit top only.

No bottoms at all?

How risque!

Thal, regarding this:

"They are the McDonalds of diver certification. Quick, inexpensive and tasty. Pardon me for saying so, but I also believe it to be a health hazard." - DCBC

To whom does that refer?

Does anyone else feel a little sheepish about being in here talking about diving when we could be out there actually diving?...

That's mean, but you guys in Florida just keep rubbing it in. Northern California has mostly been sea state terrible, brail diving, or both all year. Did any of us ever tell you how unbelievably delicious Abalone are? … Oh wait, you don’t have any!
:)

Never meant to be mean!!!

We had a horribly anomalous winter, cold front almost every weekend, terrible conditions ... I was not pointing fingers at anyone else ... just feeling silly about my posts outnumbering my dives ... check the first post.

There you go again, warm water here is around 55° F! Got any more tales of woe?

(I really am joking, what else is there to do when conditions suck)
