I was trying to find someone to dive with this afternoon at Gilboa. No such luck.

Portage at noon works for me.
Their website claims 50 to 70 ft vis. Is that for real?

Mid week when the split fin and other clowns haven't stirred it up, one can easily get 60 feet viz.

Might I suggest the OP attend some dive shows, there is one in Columbus next Spring. While at the show ask some of the shops to add you to their call list for charters and get togethers they arrange. Otherwise shoot them an e-mail requesting the same. Don't forget to check out their online events calendars.

That would be great but i think the OP just needs to show up at the dive sites.

Absolutely! He unfortunately missed an excellent opportunity last weekend. It was a drop-down-gorgeous fall weekend and there we over 20 of us local divers, including a number from the Dayton area, diving together at Gilboa. Making those events is how you find dive buddies and build relationships. Those events have worked wonders for me over the years.

Perhaps the post topic should be renamed "Why do people find it so hard to get me out diving with them?"

Hi people whats up i have been reading every bodies replies where is Gilboa located.

It's in NW Ohio about 20 min west of Findlay. The quarry is just west of the town of Gilboa. You can find it on any map site or GPS.
