Since this lens was made specifically for this camera (and maybe designed in conjunction), did they make the two lens work coherently? e.g. No barrel distortion and have the ability to zoom in without encountering off-center softness?

The lens was not made for this camera but it does work fine. It's a pretty old lens, actually.

Do yourself a favor and go with the newer INON lens...it's half the size and an excellent lens.

Hi Guys,

I just ordered the XZ-1 with the PT-050 housing and i want to get wide angle fisheye lens. I am hesitating between the INON UWL-H100 28M67 + INON dome, but this cost more than 700 euros! There is the olympus wide angle but I think there is no dome for it? and there is the Dyron 14mm wideangle with dome which is not expensive. but i don't know anything about this one. If you guys have input i would welcome them.

Well, we finally have a good wide-angle option for the XZ-1.

I tried out the Olympus wide-angle lens in the pool yesterday on the PT-050 housing for the XZ-1. The results were fantastic. Wide angle of view, excellent sharpness.

This seems to be the winning wide-angle choice for this housing. I put some test photos up on the Oly wide-angle lens product page.

This lens is a serious piece of glass and the quality really shows.

Scott

Hello Scott, does it require an adapter to fit onto the PT-050 housing?

Go with the
INON UWL-H100 28M67 you will not be happy with the Oly lens...it's soo big and heavy.
