My favorites are: La Choza, Sonora Grill, El Foco, El Pique, Kintas, La Conchita, La Mission Parilla, Especias and the Shrimp Quesadillas and the Rasta Bar.

This may be an old topic, but I still love talking about them. :)

I find the dining in COZ to be some of the best island food I've had and very reasonable in price.

I must admit, I have never tried Casa Dennis in all my trips.....is it as good as I hear? Always seemed too touristy on the square...
No offense intended, but aren't you a tourist? Don't get me wrong; there are certainly places on Cozumel where I won't go for that reason - Senor Frog's, Margaritaville, and Carlos n' Charlie's, for example - but Casa Denis is a far cry from those places.

Curious if anyone has a good list of restaurants with LIONFISH on their menus, or places that server tasty lionfish meals? I would like to partake in supporting the wanton murder and eating of them on my next trip!

And yes, I am a tourist, but I tend to try to avoid the typical blatantly touristy locations like you mentioned above. IE: Palmeras on the square.....

Brules, Dude, there are lots of places, but try La Perlita. Their lionfish is INCREDIBLE. My mouth is watering thinking about it. The coconut breading is awesome, just a hint of sweet. Plain is good as is the shish kabob.

Casa Denis is one of the, if not, the oldest operating restaurant on the island. Very traditional and very authentic...don't let the "good people watching" location fool you.

I think the spaghetti en costra at Sorrisi is pretty awesome. I've been back for it once, and look forward to having it again.

Other than that, I haven't had a meal on the island that has really stood out for me. Not meant as a knock, I just don't feel that dining is Cozumel's strong suit.

Curious, are you generally a picky eater? I'm with Gordon, as usual, I've had some amazing meals that match quality to any restaurants back home...and I live in a VERY competitive restaurant town.

We ate at Sorrisi...once...and was not very impressed, with either the service or the food. Guido's has them beat, hands down, on both.

I enjoyed the only meal I ate off the resort which was Toros on the main street, just north of Aqua Safari. Awesome Pico de Gallo, and the fajita tester combo with a couple of Sols on the upper level balcony was great

I mentioned one about a month ago: Bahia del Caribe operated by the fisherman's cooperative. It is on Ave 5 just immediately south of the cemetery. They close in the early evening. I think the best time is mid afternoon. If you drink beer they bring free food including whole fried lion fish. Or you can order a lion fish dinner for about 100 pesos.

Sounds like lunch coming back from Caleta.....
