right on pete .... that's the way to do it

some times people say im leaving just so their fan boys say please don't , I saw it on bearger world .........if your adult enough to say im talking my ball and going home so be it
You know how to tell when someone isn't leaving?

When they start a thread announcing they're leaving.

Just ask and perhaps you will receive.
@LetterBoy,

Don't fall for it!!!

The one unspoken rule is that anyone who asks to be a mod never will be one. (I ask every year just to make sure it never happens to me...)

Quite often a mod will go through and delete a number of posts in a thread. These posts were problematic OR quoting problematic threads and the mods select them all and delete or split them as a unit. Mods simply don't have the time to go back and indicate each post had to go individually, especially if they are trying to head off a thread derail. IF you screwed up bad enough, you can expect a more personal love note. If you don't then please just "let it go". One of the worst posts to make, and I've made them, is "I'm going to report your post!" I don't care what you're discussing, that's almost assuredly off topic.If you think a user and/or post is an issue, please, please, please use that report button instead of starting your own personal jihad that creates a thread hijack. If you must let them know, then use the PM/Conversation feature to let them know privately rather than mucking up the thread and creating yet more work for the mods to deal with.

@The Chairman

“Your post containing: ‘Solo cave diving is swell...’ has been deleted.

Is infinitely better than:

“Your post has been deleted.”

The normal procedure when one or a few posts are deleted, the poster should receive a notification that their post has been deleted, with a short explanation. In the hypothetical case you refer to, it could be e.g. "Promoting unsafe practices". In other cases, it can be e.g. "Off topic", "Namecalling", "Personal attack" or somesuch. If a bunch of posts is deleted, there will usually be a mod message in the thread explaining why it has been moderated.

Of course, since moderators are fallible humans, they sometimes forget to notify with an explanation.
