Still contemplating the switch from jacket to BPW, in thinking through the details I am wondering if the octo needs to go an a necklace or is there some other configuration to have it near my chest.

Thanks!

needs is a strong word. You can use the exact same regulator configuration you are using now, whatever that is. IMO primary donate is much better, and the neck is the best place to put it. Plenty of discussions on here about that, just search primary donate and you'll find everything you need. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask either in those threads or in this one

Thank you, yes I have read the whys and why nots on the primary donate discussion, just wondering where the reg would be clipped off on a dive if not on a necklace.

same places you'd put it in a jacket BC. You can put pockets on the harness, use the retainers on the right d-ring, etc.

Where do you clip it off now? Why do you think that would change?

Probably overthinking it, I guess I would clip it on the right shoulder d-ring but I just thought it might be a little high there.

as I said above, putting it on a suicide strap or necklace is greatly preferred as I do genuinely believe that primary donate is the best regulator configuration from both a streamling/ease of use perspective, but more importantly from a safety perspective.
Now, that being said if you want to use your current configuration, there is nothing that says you can't move the d-ring down, or put a second one on there in the location that you want it

I will probably reconfigure my hoses and go with a necklace. I agree, I dove it there before and I do like it. I was just wondering how everyone else handled it.

I'm not sure I fully understand the question. Will the backup second stage that you are asking about securing be used for you in the event you need to rescue someone (primary donate), or do you plan on giving it to the victim (secondary donate)...?

If the former, then you are better off with a necklace. If the latter, probably better to use a standard clip site, but make sure that it is (1) easily deployable, but (2) won't come lose accidentally and drag.

I agree that primary donate (with a long hose, and necklaced backup) is better.

In my current configuration as was taught by SSI I am donating my secondary. Therefore it is clipped near my chest on a rubber keeper on my jacket BC. Hence my question, on a BPW there is nothing near my chest to clip to, only high on my shoulder.
