In my opinion no, I like it more than the 250 because while it’s more complicated, like all newer regs that give you more adjustability it is smaller, i prefer it to the 250 for myself.

Is the 260 the same dimensions or similar to the S600? I saw your volume measurements where the G250, S600, and G260(IIRC?) had the same case volume.

It’s between the two, just my opinion but the S600 has a taller diaphragm that makes up for the smaller size.

As far as physical comparisons amongst popular Scubapro second stages:

From biggest to smallest diaphragm:

G250/V, G260, G250HP, S600, A700, R380/90/95, C-series, D420/400, X650

Yeeeeaaahhh, my direct experience is only with these tho:

G250/G250HP, S555/600, R380/90/95, X650

Are folks concerned much with case volume differences or just call them close enough to not have an effect?

I am just interested in physical comparisons that also might show advantages (i.e. bigger diaphragm = easier cracking pressure).
 
The lever is beefed up...although results in a slightly higher cracking effort and does put extra pressure on the seat as the lever sits higher
Not sure I concur here. The diaphragm is different. My G260 can crack anywhere down to 0.7". But so can the G250, if you bend the lever feet with Herman's tool so it sits properly. That's the nice thing about the G260 - you can adjust lever height with the orifice position, and just compensate by shifting out on the microadjuster - something the G250 didn't have.

Just for my clarity, I was referring to using a G260 lever unmolested in a G250. Or you got that and you still disagree?
 
The Sea Hornet Command Air (LHS) was designed to crack reliably at 0.5" with a diaphragm almost the same size as a G250 :wink:
The silicone rubber on the Sea Hornet was very thin, almost transparent... I'd guess for maximum response?
Lever geometry was quite different though note size of rubbing plate for feet much further apart than G250.
