Actually none were wearing computers. If some people are wearing computers I request that anyone not wearing a computer stay above me. I see very, very few people who actually plan their dives. They just follow their DM.
In Cozumel DM's actually tell people to ignore their computers when...
I find more people(who don't have computers) who have too much faith in the dive leader to keep themselves safe. They never plan their dives or even calculate them afterwards they just follow the divemaster (who is often wearing a computer). If they calculated them straight they would be over...
Hi, i just earned my Divemaster Certification. I travel to China every summer and teach English for two or three months and hope to dive at one end of the trip or the other. where is the best place?
Balmorhea's water is 72 degrees and crystal clear....100ft vis and the fish are almost too friendly and the turtles are awesome; we saw a family? of five two big ones and three small.
my Mom got her open water this year at 72 she was born in 36. She was the oldest diver our instructor had ever certified. I think she logged about 30 dives this year!
Since Balmorhea is only an hour and a half from my house Ill try for Friday or Saturday. I had never thought about it being an altitude dive since it is lower then my home.....I dove there before twice and my husband did discovering scuba diving there and no one mentioned it LOL
Stuman,
I'll try to be at Balmorhea the first....I have a bit of a snotty nose now but hopefully it will be better then. I'll be the one in the brightly decorated BCD looking for a dive buddy:)
Thanks,
I'm finally over it. The cough was very productive...I ended up taking antibiotics for 14 days and though I am not coughing or heavy in the lungs or rasping when I exhale any more I am slow getting my energy back. I can't say for sure if it was more then bronchitis but it sure put the...
I take things apart and figure out how they work too. But, I understand that not all people have that desire...some are content just to use stuff and that is cool too. If my Mom or sisters want to dive without understanding why the table works that is fine with me as long as they know how to use...
Wow.... I am surprised that this topic caused so much conversation. I understood how to use the tables, I just wanted a clarification on the math behind them. Most people are not interested in the math and can use them fine without knowing. The first person explained the answer to my question...
I can use the tables. I have no problem using them or teaching them, I pester my sisters to calculate their dives. I calculate my dives even though I have a computer.
My question is about table three why does the amount of residual nitrogen change with depth?
for example I finish my first...
So, the sea was rough and one of the other divers was taking forever to get off the boat and so I put my snorkel in my mouth while I waited and then forgot I hadn't replaced it with my second stage when I descended until I took a breath of water. It wasn't huge or anything and I just put in my...
hey I'm in west Texas and new to Scuba board. I have 47 dives(mostly in Jamaica but a couple of California and a couple of balmorhea) and have just finished Rescue Diver.
