The July '06 issue of Scuba Diving warns that spit might or might not work, depending on what you just ate, or the composition of your spit in general. Plus, there is bacteria in your spit that commercial defogs don't have.

I picked up a bottle of Vel Rosa, a fabric softner, in Cozumel. This stuff works really well.

I like Sea Drops. Some dive boats had liquid detergent for antifogging but it could sting your eyes.

A little water left in your mask works pretty good when all else fails...
