Are SS trigger snaps DIR?

People aren't familiar with the type snap you're talking about. They're actually extremely secure and easy to use, far more secure than a bolt-snap. I use them on the line ends of all my reels and spools. Clip the snap around the line to form a loop around a rail or whatever or clip the snap directly to a d-ring on a bag, no way its coming off.

Are they DIR? Probably not. Do they work? Very well.

Yeah, I have one on my snowboard leash, but never thought to use one diving. I didn't even know they came in SS..

I would say that unless someone can give you a good reason not to use them, go ahead and use them...but what do I know.
