Lemonade once bubbled...

DiveRite advertises their Trek & Rec wings as suitable for both applications. How well does it work in real life? Any experience/opinions out there?

"Back in the day" (mid 70's) I dove an At-Pac which had a universal wing. We used it for both signles and doubles.

Last summer I taught my daughter to dive and for the first 2 dives she used a Halcyon Explorer wing with a single tank as I had not yet received the 27 # wing. She did ok. The next weekend she dove the Pioneer 27 # wing with a single and her comment was "What a difference!"

Moral of the story: Use the right tool for the job. Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you should do something.

Get a single wing for diving singles and a double wing for diving doubles.

I have the trek wing for use with my doubles and for awhile before I got my single tank wing Iused it with a single tank. It is possible to use with a single tank, but I wouldn't recommend it. Air getting trapped, wing wrapping the tank. If it was all that great to use with a single tank I wouldn't have ended up buying the single tank wing. Plus I think the 45lbs of lift is just too much for a single tank.

Others may have different opinions, that's just mine.

There aren't that many single tank wings out there. It is a shame as they are really nice to dive with. I'm sure the big players will catch-up soon, though.
