It's been a while since I have been on the board so I haven't responded. Basically, I took the BC to a local sailmaker and had him sew the strap onto the BC. It has worked fine. THanks for all the great advice.

However, that said, the BC is on its last sealegs. The thread on my weight pockets is about ready to break through. Plus, after 12 years, the suit is a bit too small at this time. Finally, I really like the design of the newer back inflation systems that give a lot more freedom in front and also allow you to don your weights after you suit up.
