I recall something about shoulder strap moving outward dealing with the threading of the web belt on the lower of the plate. by that I mean form the shoulder to the lower inside to out side to the buckle or shoulder to lower out side to the inside to the buckle io just looked at my rig and it is shoulder to lower inside slot to the lower out side slot then to the buckle. My plate moves up and down a bit. ti will and because of that you have a crotch strap. it does not have to be tight. it can be loose enough to allow room for your fist. Lastly if you are not use to a BP then the wing itself being a back inflate will throw a curve in new BP/w divers comfort level until you get use to it. of which yo do not have to inflate it to max on the surface. new BPWs have a tendency to be pushed face down. deflate it a bit and learn to get on top of the wing while on your back on the surface it will become second nature and quite comfortable. it takes a bit of an arched back to do it. when you roll on your back use the lower d rings to push down roll back and arch and you are now lying on a raft
