You can brighten the picture using gain, but it adds noise. I set my auto gain limit to 6 or 9. This is a personal preference as each of us will have a different tolerance to noise. You can go all the way up to +18 gain.

To my eyes, when I shoot underwater with this setting plus the red filter, the brightness looks the same through the camcorder than it does with my own eyes viewing the scene. If I need to brighten the shot, I'll remove the filter.
 
Other question about wide angle : I need 80° wide angle minimum, and on the description of wide angles on the net I always see 0.7x or 0.8x : how can I convert that information into angle? 0.8x = 80° ?

I think it is like this:

wideangle of the cam / 0,x = wideangle with the adapter

I would recommend at least 80-90°.
 
Do already own a FX7? Housing?

There are two possibilities:

1) Housing with good optics

2) Adapter behind Glasport, brands: Century (Schneideroptics), 16x9Europe or raynox. My recommendation is century or 16x9.
