Well my wreck diving course has been postponed, likely until 2021 but I'm registered for my self reliant course.

Under water social distancing has existed for many moons for competent divers prior to courses

"Is it okay for me to use the term 'many moons'?"

true but in those many moons lawyers have replicated exponentially and now legal immunity is gained only though certification at many dive sites; a more significant problem for inland divers than those with easy access to the ocean.

I remember a time when solo was still whispered.

And before that no one cared how anyone dove. Attitudes change over time.

I still don't care how anyone else dives. (Within safe parameters of course)

Yes. I recall my older brother diving from the family boat in the '60s-- not deep, just gathering clams. Got his air from a gas station. Not certified. No one thought this was odd.
Once in a while I do receive a surprised comment from someone (on shore, or even another diver) when I say I'm going in alone. But I think less often than just a few years ago. Yes, attitudes do change.

Another 4.5 hour solo dive today. What a wonderful way to get away from all other human existence. True social distancing!
