There seems to be an infinite amount of cutting tools for scuba diving.

Which cutting tools give the best value for the money invested ?

Trilobite, DR EzCut - ceramic, and any cheap dive shears (throw away @ $5.00 +/- each). I just got a Mini-Fog Cutter, and the jury is still out. Like it, hat the mount....

YMMV

How does the Trilobite Eezycut compare to the Dive Rite Line Cutter AC3208 ?

I carry a small knife, titanium(ish) trauma sheers, and a DGX trilobite. Never used the knife except to cut fruit on the dive boat. Triliobite works great on fishing line, so do the sheers.

All were cheap. All fit in a cargo pocket except the T-bite is on a shoulder strap.

Good luck,
Jay

For cutting what?

In case of a unexpected entanglement emergency.

I carry a small titanium and usually a couple of z-knives like the trilobyte. The value of having the cutter you need, when you need it is priceless. I don't care much about the price.

Being young enough to have watched Lloyd Bridges in Sea Hunt, I feel like I need to carry a knife (or two) as every week some nefarious character(s) were sneaking up behind him to have a knife fight and cut those old fashioned air hoses.

Just steal their BFG when they're not looking. I do it all the time. :D :D :D
