I'm looking for input on fin choices. My older fins (Aqualung Blades 2) are ok but I'm looking for a replacement which works well for my normal dominant method of using the frog kick but is also an efficient fin for scissor kicking when faced with heavier current situations. Any feedback is appreciated.

I recently bought a pair of Deep 6 Eddy fins and have been very happy with them especially regarding frog kicking. In heavier Cozumel currents they took quite a bit of leg muscle but they were definitely adequate. Reasonably priced also, you may give them a look.

My wife uses the frog kick almost exclusively. We both dive in Mares Excel Plus fins.

dive rite, deep 6, or the mares quattro line depending on how much leg effort you want to put in. jetfin (xl or larger)/turtle/f1 for drysuit.

^ +1

Wife dives Mares - loves them
Daughter dives Deep6 - really likes them (replaced old IST paddles)
I dive Turtles/F1/XT depending on objectives and gear

The Deep6 are to light for me, but do have very decent power.

YMMV

Love my L Jetfins for wet and XXL OMS Slipstreams for dry. Plenty of power for singles or doubles.

Any stiff paddle fin will work well. The key is a stiff fin that moves lots of water.

Jets and their derivatives like the Deep6. OMS Slipstreams, XS Turtles.
Similar rubber fins like the Hollis F1's.
Others like Dive Rite XT's, Mares Avanti Quattro's, etc.
