I agree with Mauigal - there is way too much equipment to contend with on Tech dives. I thought we had enough equipment to deal with during our Rescue class this weekend.

Next step is starting the divemaster course in June and then moving onto Instructor!

It's actually amazing how litte you notice it in the water.

You have to be careful of what you think of as too much equipment and what tech diving is. You can defintley have lots of equipment but all depends on depth gas and configuration needed. You don't have to be diving to hundreds of metres to be tech diving. You can do your Advanced Deco Procedures and keep your kit as simple as possible. We do accelerated deco dives with single 15ltr cylinders and 7 litre Nitrox cylinders. Not a whole lot of kit to contend with there, but can still tak a bit of getting used to. Did some dives in the Red Sea with 15's and 10 ltr stages. Still not shed loads of kit, bit more bulky wiht the tens but it is all good experience. Not all Tech Diving is multiple cylinders, twins, stages, deco mix etc. A

Follow this link, go to photos then Egyptian Red Sea then page 3 of the album and you will see the kit we used for our deco procedures. Myself and my buddy are the top middle photo wearing chest slung cylinders.

if you click on the tek part on the front page will also give you a breakdown of dive and kit requirements for the tek courses. Just some information for you, don't expect you to grab stages etc and jump right in :) Lol
