In Rescue situations, it's nice if the victim has ditchable weights, but it's not a requirement. From a diving perspective, there is no actual requirement to have ditchable weight.
If you're concerned about being positive in a wing failure... remember that a safety sausage, and/or lift bag are both considered backups/redundancies for your wing. Or you could get a 2-bladder wing.
